Yes. For many patients, traveling abroad to undergo a hair transplant with Dr. Alba Reyes Sagiv makes complete medical sense. Hair restoration is a specialized field that requires advanced surgical skill, precision, and a deep understanding of diverse hair types, scalp conditions, and biological variations.
Dr. Reyes has more than twenty years of experience and is internationally recognized for her expertise. She is a Fellow of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (FISHRS) and is also board-certified by the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS). Her extensive background includes exceptional work with curly, coily, Afro-textured, and mixed-ethnicity hair, which many surgeons worldwide are not trained to handle at the same level.
At the Alba Reyes Hair Transplant Institute in Santo Domingo, every procedure follows strict international medical standards. Our equipment, sterilization systems, and safety protocols reflect the same standards used in leading clinics in the United States and Europe.
Unlike many high-volume commercial centers, every surgery is performed by Dr. Reyes herself and never by technicians. Patients benefit from individualized treatment planning, direct physician involvement, and consistent follow-up care before, during, and after the procedure.
Traveling to the Dominican Republic also provides access to world-class hair restoration at a more accessible cost, without sacrificing quality, safety, or results.
Simply contact our International Patient Care Team. We’ll guide you step-by-step; from your free orientation and virtual consultation to travel planning, accommodation, and preparation for your procedure.

Yes. Our administrative staff are bilingual, ensuring that patients receive clear communication and support in both English and Spanish throughout their entire experience.
However, it’s important to note that English is not the primary language in the Dominican Republic, and while our drivers and external logistics partners are not fluent English speakers, they do understand basic English instructions. To guarantee smooth coordination, our bilingual care team is always in contact during your arrival and departure to ensure you feel safe, informed, and cared for every step of the way.
Most international patients stay 2–4 days, depending on their procedure type and recovery needs. This allows time for your consultation, surgery, immediate post-op care, and a follow-up before you return home.
You’ll need a valid passport (minimum six months before expiration) and may need to complete the electronic immigration form (E-Ticket) before arrival at www.eticket.migracion.gob.do. Travelers from the U.S., Canada, and most European countries do not require a visa for short medical visits.
Absolutely. Many patients enjoy a medical retreat experience; combining their procedure with rest, recovery, beautiful beaches and culture the Dominican Republic is known for. Our team can recommend recovery-friendly resorts and experiences.

- Lightweight, breathable clothing (cotton or linen)
- Sunglasses and sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher)
- Comfortable shoes for walking
- Light jacket or shawl for cool evenings or air-conditioned areas
- Travel-size toiletries and personal care items
- Medical documents (appointment confirmation, insurance info, prescriptions)
